I have spent hours and hours updating our Excel files of our budget, and I think I got them pretty well straightened out. Currently, we have the following amounts allocated in the Campus Life account:
| Earth Day | $3574.77 |
|---|---|
| Eco Film Project | $357.65 |
| General | $653.69 |
| Total | $4586.11 |
Of course, these amounts can be re-allocated as we deem necessary, meaning we can move the money around from one fund to another. We just can't make the total amount any more than it is -- except that we also have another account.
For some reason, and I haven't been able to get any good answers why this was done, we have an account with the OSU Foundation (OSUF), and this has been allocated to the Eco Film Project. The good thing about the OSUF account is that we get interest on the money we keep in there: it looks like it is currently paying about 2.50%, compounded monthly. The bad thing about the OSUF account is that they take a part of each donation that is deposited with them. In the past, it has been 5%, but it looks like the most recent amount that went into the foundation account was charged only 3%. Supposedly there are some other services that come with this account, such as the Foundation helping us with publicity or something like that. The OSUF account currently has about $614.56, bringing the total amount available in the Eco Film Project Budget up to $972.21.
| Campus Life Account | $4586.11 |
|---|---|
| OSU Foundation Account | $614.56 |
| Total available funds | $5200.67 |
This reflects the amount available after Latasha's outstanding amounts from last semester are reimbursed, and I have submitted the forms for that.
The Excel files showing all of the stuff happening on our account are here:
2002-2003
2003-2004
2004-2005
2005-2006
The first sheet is good on all of them, but I may still need to update the
other sheets on the middle two.
I made the following changes to get the ledger in good order:
There are some AFAP reports and useful things that I haven't had time to review:
Here are the old Excel files of our account status (before I fixed them). Please review and see if there is anything worth keeping:
