From Rina

First of all, I have to say that I feel very fortunate to make it this far and to have the support and love from not only my family but also friends and wonderful acquaintances. Many have lost their battle against the same illness that I have, but every day that I wake up I know that I have been a very lucky girl. This fight has not been easy but I know whatever plan GOD has for me, I will accept it. But for now I know that He would like me to continue my fight the best of my ability.

For those that has helped me raise money and so that I can continue this fight I cant thank you enough. Its through your kindness that I know that this is not the end of the road. Your wonderful donations makes me feel blessed and fortunate. So thank you again, this means so much to me.

Much love,
Rina

Hello everyone,

I had such a fun weekend! I cant seem to find the right words to say that would fully express how much I am so grateful and full of joy with just not how much money has been raised but also with the fact that it was not just me that had so much fun but I also had people telling me that they enjoyed it just as much as I did.
The effects of the chemo has finally kicked in at the expense of my throat. I have not been able to eat or even drink properly since Sunday. I'm glad that the last meal I had was that delicious meal at the Bali Fusion Cafe! ha!ha!
Anyways, Myron Sheldon from the IT Helpdesk wrote to me that they have raised $650 from the fishing tournament and the largest fish caught weighed in at 50lbs! It was unbelievable. There's some pictures from the event, I will upload it when I'm feeling a little better.
Love,
Rina

Hello everyone,

My heart and lung tests were canceled yesterday because the cancer cells are not responding to the last chemo regimen which would make the testing inaccurate and useless. So they are going to wait until my new chemo on Friday before they will decide when the testing can continue. The past two weekends the tumors in my neck has been growing at an alarming rate, which it shouldn't be doing late in the chemo cycle. Hopefully this stronger and better drug on Friday can keep it under control or at least slow down the growth for longer than just a week at a time, because unless they do the transplant would not be successful. I ask for your prayers and well wishes that this drug will be the one that will finally get me into transplant! Thank you.....

Rina was hoping to have a transplant evaluation on Monday, July 7 but due to the growth of the tumors over the weekend the evaluation was cancelled.  At this time Rina is continuing daily chemo treatments and on Friday, July 11 she will receive a stronger dose of chemo with hopes that the tumors will reduce in size.  After this treatment the physicians will re-evaluation which we hope will lead immediately to the transplant.   Your kind thoughts for Rina are much appreciated.   More updates to come.

Rina is facing yet another challenge.  The tumors are active again and are causing some extreme discomfort.  According to the doctor’s report, the tumors have been resisting her current chemotherapy treatments which she has had every three weeks.   Now Rina will be going through daily chemotherapy.  The doctor is concerned that Rina’s body will not be able to take such severe chemical treatment.  The transplant procedure is now even more urgent and must take place at an earlier date.   It is essential that we raise the funds as quickly as possible.
