"Has had just one case in his life - but that's serious." - 1919 Redskin

"He's won Merritt." - 1920 Redskin

Born February 11, 1893 in Hutto, TX, Clyde Haston moved to the town of Tribbey, Oklahoma Territory, in 1896. His family moved to Stillwater in 1910, and he enrolled at Oklahoma A&M College in 1912 as a sub-freshman. Brother Haston left OAMC in the fall of 1917 to serve in World War I, and returned to his studies the next year. He graduated from OAMC in 1920 with a degree in Agriculture, and earned a master's degree in the same field in 1928.  In 1922, he married Hazel Dell Merritt. Their family soon grew to include five sons and one daughter.

After graduation, Brother Haston became a teacher, working in the Jenks and Glenpool school districts near Tulsa. He returned to Stillwater in 1923 as a professor of agronomy and experiment station foreman at OAMC. In 1935, he began working as a project manager for the USDA Soil Conservation Service, from which he retired in 1963. This appointment saw him live in various towns around Oklahoma, including Pryor and Stillwell. Upon retirement, Brother Haston moved to El Paso, Texas, where he passed away on September 16, 1964.

Brother Haston served Kappa Kappa Psi as the first Grand 2nd Vice-President from 1919-1922. He is credited, along with William Coppedge, with the design of the Crown Pearl Badge.  Brother Haston is buried in Stillwater with his wife Hazel next to their son Donnie.
