Welcome to the
Non-Traditional Student Organization’s website!
First, let me answer
the most important question: What is the
NTSO?
The NTSO is an
organization that exists to help students make the most of their college
experience. We serve as advocates for non-traditional students (non-trads),
and offer non-trads a social support network and opportunities to become
an active part of the campus community. I invite each and every
non-traditional student on campus to join and find ways for you and your
family to become active on the OSU campus.
The NTSO sponsors many
great activities throughout the year. We have social events each month
for members and their families, as well as special events to celebrate
holidays and the beginning and end of each semester. We welcome
children and partners at all of our functions, and provide babysitting
whenever necessary. (Yes, you read that right – free babysitting!)
We also host several
special projects each year. The Angel Tree, Non-Traditional Student
Week, Kids on Kampus and the Pig Event BBQ cook-off are excellent
opportunities to get involved. There is more information available for
each of these programs on the website.
It is a great time to
be a non-traditional student! I’m excited to say that our organization
is continually expanding, along with our programs and our impact on the
OSU campus.
Now the next question:
What’s in it for you?
Well, getting involved
on campus and having a strong social support network will make your
college experience more positive. The most important part... When
school gets discouraging, that support can give you the boost you need
to keep going. It worked for me, and I know it can work for you.
Please check back
frequently for updates on what is going on.
Also, remember we’re
here to help, so don’t be afraid to ask.
Sincerely,
Christy Harvey
